Here's a quicky from Glen Reynolds (aka the Instapundit) who was trying to update his credit card info for a Verizon wireless data card.

He couldn't get through to customer service because the data-only card doesn't have a phone number, and the system wouldn't let him through without entering his wireless phone number (dialing zero just caused Verizon to hang up). The e-mail notifications didn't have a valid return address.

The solution? Pretend to be a prospective--not current--customer in order to reach a human.
