It wasn't just us

Longtime readers of this blog may remember last fall when we wrote about having a laptop stolen from luggage at the Seattle-Tacome airport.

We did eventually (and somewhat mysteriously) get compensation for the stolen computer, though I'm still a little steamed that the airport never posted signs warning about theft when the airport police had been getting ten reports a day of stolen laptopns.

Nevertheless, something's finally happening. Two baggage handlers were arrested a couple days ago for theft, and the airport police report that they're still investigating. It's still not a good idea to pack valuables in checked luggage, but with luck it's now at least a little safer.
