Gotta Have Zero

TMC's Call Center blog reported today that Oklahoma's legislature has proposed a new law which would require companies doing business in the state to send callers to an agent when they hit "zero."

Assuming that this passes--which it probably won't--it most likely won't pass constitutional muster, since it clearly violates the federal authority to regulate interstate commerce.

But it says something that politicians feel this is an issue worth grandstanding about.

(And as for my own opinion: Providing an agent opt-out is just common sense. Legislation should be redundant.)
